Lucky Liz Scoops A Grand Prize (Feb 2014)

The last thing on Liz Allan’s mind when she went shopping in her local Morrisons in Grimsby was entering a competition – she was more interested in making sure she had her regular supply of Harbour Salmon! 

But snazzy packaging and a money off voucher for Merrydown Cider encouraged Liz to try her luck with the on-pack competition to win £1000 worth of Morrisons vouchers.

Despite it being the only competition she has entered for some time, she forgot about it – and was thrilled to hear the news she won top prize in the Harbour Salmon Co. and Merrydown promotion. 

 "I was intrigued by the banner on the packet and the money-off coupon so thought I would enter. Normally I don’t bother but I buy salmon every week so it seemed right to have a go." 

Family and friends will now benefit from a few treats as she plans to help out with her mother’s and children’s weekly shop.

"I shop in Morrisons every week so the vouchers will come in very handy for treats for the family," she added.

Liz said she is a keen fan of the Harbour Salmon Co. brand, choosing it above other fish products because the fillets are easy to cook in the microwave and don’t need any preparation.

"They are ready in a few minutes and there are no bones, no smells. All I need to do is add some potatoes and vegetables for a tasty and healthy meal. I eat salmon at least once a week now because it is so easy."

The competition was a joint promotion between Harbour Salmon Co. and Merrydown - offering shoppers the chance to enjoy the combination of the fish and cider, now considered one of the country’s favourite accompaniments to flavours such as Thai and Chilli.
